Volunteers are needed to help support our Farmer's Market, where folks will work to provide fresh local produce to all Southern Arizonans. Volunteers must be able to serve outside, and training is provided on site! This is an access market with a Double-Up SNAP food stamp matching program, culturally relevant foods, and is a community space to engage with growers and neighbors. It is a public and inclusive space with folks from all different backgrounds, where all are welcome. *Bilingual preferred, but not required*
Training is provided during your first shift! The ideal candidate is someone who can commit to volunteering at least 3 Thursdays a month.
At the Farmer's Market, volunteers are needed to:
- Welcome and take care of guests at the info table
- Help guests learn different methods for paying for produce (including SNAP or vouchers)
- Set up and break down produce and displays at the market, market signs, and vendor tents
- Support vendors
- Handle monetary transactions
- Check out customers
- Support CFB’s Abundant Harvest Cooperative (to learn more about one of the ways we promote local food, click here)
Location: 221 S Avenida del Convento, Tucson AZ.
Time Commitment & Hours: Every Thursday evening from 3:30pm-7:30pm
Dress code:
Please be aware that failure to follow the dress code may result in dismissal from volunteer activity for the day.
- Comfortable, closed-toe and closed-heel shoes
- If you would like to wear gloves, please bring your own
- Face mask optional

Description
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona provides food and food-related services throughout a 23,000 square-mile region of Southern Arizona including Pima, Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, and Santa Cruz counties. The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona distributes over 63,000 meals a day to members of our community with the support of over 300 local nonprofit agencies. Each year, we assist over 225,000 people through our programs and services. We provide distribution services from our main warehouse in Tucson and from four branch banks in Nogales, Green Valley, and Amado. We have a long history of consistent, reliable program delivery, providing Southern Arizona with a multitude of food-related programs and services including emergency food distribution, child hunger programs, home and community gardening, farmers’ markets, and SNAP (food stamp) application assistance.
