The Escondido Creek Conservancy serves every 3rd grader in the Escondido Union School District with our Habitats: Inquiry into Action Program. Volunteers assist educators during outdoor education field trips to the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve. These field trips occur from 8:50 - 1:00 on varying Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from October - May of each school year. Assisting an educator includes helping with classroom management, passing out materials to students, trail safety, and the opportunity to teach lessons over time, if interested. Fore more information, email ariel@escondidocreek.org.

Mission Statement

We believe that everyone benefits by being part of nature, not apart from it. The Escondido Creek Conservancy exists to enhance the lives of people and wildlife in our Watershed and we do this by leading, educating and advocating for our natural surroundings.

Description

For the past 30 years, the Conservancy has helped preserve about 3,000 acres of land and is working to preserve an additional 1,000+ acres. Since 1991, the Conservancy has purchased or facilitated the purchase of some of the most biologically sensitive properties in the Escondido Creek watershed. The Conservancy also provides watershed education programs to thousands of youth and adults every year.

While much has been accomplished, there are major challenges ahead. The preserved lands must be managed in perpetuity. A new generation of conservationists must be engaged. Water quality must be improved. Other areas of the watershed need the Conservancy’s attention.

With your help the Conservancy can continue this important work for decades to come. Please join us!
