Our mission at the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Waukesha County is to provide older adults and people with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities the resources needed to live with dignity and security and to achieve maximum independence and quality of life. The goal of the ADRC is to empower individuals to make informed choices and to streamline access to the right and appropriate services and supports.
We are now recruiting new advisory board members to act as a voice for consumers of ADRC services. The Advisory Boards role is to provide guidance and feedback on the ADRC's services, priorities, and future direction and to act as an ambassador for the agency.
The ADRC is looking for individuals who have the ability to embrace diversity, equity and inclusion within the volunteer role where everyone feels valued and inspired. You must be comfortable working and communicating with people of all backgrounds. Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. The Appointed Advisory Board member serves a term of three (3) years, and no member shall serve more than two (2) consecutive three-year terms.
Interested individuals should complete a volunteer application and submit a summary of their background and indicate their interest in serving on the ADRC Advisory Board. Email HHSVolunteer@waukeshacounty.gov for a volunteer application.
