For experienced crisis line volunteers, DCRC is also seeking volunteers for hospital accompaniment of survivors of sexual assault. As a crisis line volunteer, you may also volunteer for weekend or night shift(s) to meet survivors at the hospital after an assault. This is a critical compassionate support role, to help survivors navigate the decisions of completing a rape kit, pressing charges, and working with a forensic nurse.
Perks:
· Choose your 6- or 12-hour shift to operate and provide on-call client support at Duke Emergency working with a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner)
· Comprehensive training, with continuous training over time
· Volunteer and paid staff that are excited to serve the community as your colleagues
· Knowledge that you make a difference for survivors.
Volunteer from the comfort of your home, only go in if there is a call
