Celestial Manna
Celestial Manna is a faith-based 501 (c) (3) food recovery non-profit founded in 1986. Our primary mission is to help our neighbors who are food insecure. We recover food from grocery stores, restaurants and local farms that would otherwise be discarded and we share the harvest to communities affected by poverty.
Summary
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficiency, compliance with regulations, and optimal utilization. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and performance.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies for the efficient operation and maintenance of the company's fleet of vehicles.
Monitor fleet performance metrics and analyze data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to vehicle operation and maintenance.
Manage fleet logistics, including vehicle acquisition, disposal, and replacement planning.
Oversee fuel management programs and optimize fuel efficiency across the fleet.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance audits to ensure vehicles are in safe and operational condition.
Collaborate with supply chain and finance departments to negotiate vendor contracts and manage fleet-related budgets.
Provide leadership and training to drivers, promoting a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Note: Volunteer must be located in the DC, MD or VA area.
Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a logistics or transportation company.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
Strong knowledge of fleet management software and systems.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to fleet operations.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Celestial Manna feeds the hungry by providing them with free food that is locally donated. We give monthly support to more than 20,000 people in the Washington, DC metropolitan region stretching from north of Baltimore through Prince George's and Montgomery Counties Maryland, and south to northern Virginia.
Description
Celestial Manna tries to help people from all walks of life; these individuals range from blue-collar workers, low-income families, single-parent households and diverse ethnicities. Hunger is not the only challenge these people face. In addition to a network of food redistribution, Celestial Manna provides support to people in need of clothing.
