About Bread of Life International:

Bread of Life International is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to addressing hunger and food insecurity in low-income households and food-deficit communities across Africa. Our mission is carried out through community outreaches, family food initiatives, school feeding programs, and disaster response efforts.

Position Overview:

Bread of Life International is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in Grant writing, fundraising, partnering with communities to raise awareness and social-media technology expertise. As a Board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting our organization to achieve its mission of alleviating hunger across Africa.

Responsibilities:

1. Mission Support and Advocacy:

· Uphold and promote the mission, purposes, goals, policies, and programs of Bread of Life International.

· Actively advocate for the organization within your personal and professional networks.

2. Strategic Planning and Policy Development:

· Work closely with the Founder and fellow Board members to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and strategies to achieve organizational goals.

· Provide governance and fiduciary oversight to ensure the sustainability and accountability of the organization.

3. Fundraising and Resource Development:

· Actively participate in fundraising activities and implement strategies to secure resources for the organization.

· Utilize personal influence and community connections to support fundraising efforts.

· Attend and support all organizational fundraising events, programs, and activities.

4. Governance and Oversight:

· Collaborate with the Founder and other Board members to provide legal and fiduciary oversight.

· Participate in the development of long-range plans, including fundraising, strategic, and resource development plans.

5. Community Ambassadorship:

· Serve as an ambassador for Bread of Life International, enhancing the organization’s public standing.

· Convey the vision and values of the organization to the community, generating goodwill and support.

· Encourage and support the efforts of staff, volunteers, and program initiatives.

Qualifications:

· Demonstrated commitment to alleviating hunger and supporting vulnerable communities.

· Expertise in fundraising, grant-writing, or technology fields, partnering and establishing relationship with communities to create awareness

· Strong leadership and governance skills.

· Experience in fundraising and resource development.

· Excellent communication and advocacy abilities.

· Willingness to commit significant volunteer time and effort.

Bread of Life International is a nonprofit organization with a driving passion to feed the poor, the needy, vulnerable, and the deprived across Africa through community outreaches, family food initiatives, and disaster response

Description

250 million people are experiencing hunger in Africa which is nearly 20% of the population. It is projected that the region will be unable to feed 60 percent of population by 2025.

As you might imagine, hunger is a problem that most often affects orphaned and vulnerable children living in extreme poverty, low-income families, homeless and street children, the needy, the poor, the widow and vulnerable people.

Immediate Solutions - we support and safely provide food to the most vulnerable children and people that are hungry and hurting through various programs such as: Community Event outreach, Family Food outreach, mobile food outreach, and disaster response and relief

Long-term Solutions - we work with partners, governmental agencies, and institutions to find long-term solutions to eliminate hunger. This includes the following, but not limited to investing more in the agriculture sector, expanding agricultural financing and non-bank small and medium-enterprise finance and capacity-building and increase in women -owned agriculture and agribusiness enterprises and so on.


Join the movement to end hunger in Africa for good and to save the lives of needy, the poor, orphaned, vulnerable children, widow, seniors, low-income families and vulnerable people that experiencing hunger and are hurting.
