Delivery Drivers for Pets in Need

PAWS/LA is looking to assemble a team of drivers to help us pick up and drop off food to low-income pet owners throughout LA County, individuals that might otherwise struggle to keep their essential service animals.

We pick up supplies maybe once a month from warehouses close (approximately a 20 min drive) to our DTLA office. Then we distribute smaller amounts of food to clients throughout the city.

For warehouse pick-up, I'd like to assemble a roster of generous folks who I can call up when the need arises. The timing can be flexible, sometime between 9 am and 12 pm on weekdays. Due to traffic, earlier is better, but we will work with you to find a mutually convenient time.
The opportunity does not require any heavy lifting, only driving, as the warehouse staff will load the pallets directly onto the truck. Our van is a small Nissan and does not require any kind of specialist license or registration.

For food delivery, the food is picked up from our DTLA office and can be delivered according to the volunteer's schedule (although we aim to have it done within 3 or so days). These deliveries are small amounts, maybe 30lbs.

This is a great opportunity to support a cause with only a small time commitment--as little as 2 hours a month. Plus, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how our organization works.
