ORGANIZATION: The Trustees of Reservations

Appleton Farms has a thriving Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, providing certified organic vegetables and pastured meat and poultry to community members and families on the North Shore. The Appleton Farms CSA team is looking for a team of volunteers to assist with cleaning and stocking to support the program this summer!

Volunteers will help with tasks such as washing crates, hosing down the floor, sweeping, and restocking produce. Our ideal candidate is not afraid to do some heavy lifting, and work that can be messy during busy pickup times. This is not a direct customer interaction role, but shifts take place during member pick up times.

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):

  • Assist CSA Staff with washing crates, hosing down the floor, sweeping, restocking produce and other duties as needed
  • Adhere to The Trustees safety protocols
  • Log volunteer hours online in Volunteer Connect

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 40+ lbs, bend repeatedly, and do work near the ground
  • Must be able to work in and out of coolers in a non-temperature controlled barn for the length of a shift during the summer
  • Must wear close toed shoes

About The Trustees of Reservations

Location:

Mission Statement

The Trustees of Reservations is here to protect and share the Massachusetts places people love for their exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value. For their trails, their history, their gardens, their beaches. For the simple reason that nature and culture can soothe the soul and improve our lives.

Description

Who We Are

We are more than 100,000 people like you who love the outdoors, who love the distinctive charms of New England, and who believe in celebrating and protecting them, for everyone, forever.

Together with our neighbors, we protect the distinct character of our communities and inspire a commitment to our special places. Our passion is to share with everyone the irreplaceable natural and cultural treasures we care for.

What We Do

We enjoy and care for more than 100 special places - nearly 25,000 acres - all around Massachusetts. And we are actively building an extended family of friends and neighbors across the state that can help in their different ways.

What We Are Up Against

Through more than 100 years of hard work and high standards, The Trustees have built a sterling reputation and a stunning physical legacy.

Today, the places we care about are going fast, and the forces undermining them, including climate change, are moving faster. We need to tap the wellspring of people’s joy - in their communities, their heritage, and the natural world - and mobilize a whole new generation to care.
