About LIFELINE PARTNERSHIP

Location:

309 E ST NW, WASHINGTON, DC 20001, US

Mission Statement

Lifeline Partnership provides social and spiritual programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. We strive to create community and a sense of belonging for those who have often been marginalized because of a disability.

Description

Lifeline Partnership was birthed by a trail-blazing woman name Catherine "Bobbie" Meyers, who in the 1950's was a mother to two small children with developmental disabilities. She sought out Sunday School Programs that would be welcoming and accommodating for her children, but unfortunately was unsuccessful. Determined to ensure the spiritual education of her children and other children with developmental disabilities, she began teaching Sunday School Programs.

Our focus has now expanded to provide both spiritual and social experiences such as; praise & worship, field trips, dances/parties for adults with
developmental disabilities. One of our strategic goals for 2024, is to enhance current and develop new programming opportunities that will engage and empower people with developmental disabilities who are Millenials or Generation Z/Gen-Zers.
