What’s Involved?

  • Create a Loving Home: Provide a safe environment for a puppy (the only dog under 12 months in your home).

  • Learn and Grow:Teachessentialpuppy manners and skills with our support and resources, including a puppy class!

  • Stay Connected:Work closely with us to track the puppy’s progress and participate in regular puppy classes.

  • EnsureWellness:Provide food, veterinary careand age-appropriate socialization.

  • Keep Active:Supervise their activities and use a leash. Consider bringing your puppy to work, if permitted.

  • Celebrate the Journey:Celebrate the incredible journey together,as the puppyreturns to our training center and starts professional service dog training.

There are approximately 64 million Americans living with a disability. Canine Companions is a national non-profit organization that provides expertly trained service dogs and a lifetime of follow-up services - completely free of charge - to children, adults and veterans with disabilities so they can lead lives with greater independence.

Headquartered in Santa Rosa, CA, Canine Companions is the largest non-profit provider of service dogs, and is recognized worldwide for the excellence of its dogs, and the quality and longevity of the matches it makes between dogs and people. The result is a life full of increased independence and loving companionship.
