Are you a skilled website developer with a passion for social justice and mental health advocacy? We need your expertise to help improve and perfect our non-profit organization’s website. Our current focus is on a research project addressing Post Incarceration Syndrome (PICS), a mental health disorder affecting formerly incarcerated individuals.

About the Project

Our non-profit is dedicated to understanding and supporting the mental health of formerly incarcerated individuals. Our research on Post Incarceration Syndrome (PICS) aims to shed light on the challenges faced by these individuals and their families while advocating for necessary support systems. A well-functioning, user-friendly website is crucial for our outreach and advocacy efforts.

Volunteer Role: Website Developer

As a volunteer website developer, you will be responsible for:

  • Fixing bugs and technical issues on the website
  • Enhancing the website's design, layout, and functionality
  • Ensuring the website is user-friendly and accessible
  • Collaborating with our team to incorporate feedback and implement new features
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal)
  • Experience with website design and optimization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and ethical considerations in handling sensitive information
Commitment
  • Flexible hours, with a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week
  • Ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with our team
  • Willingness to work on a volunteer basis

Our MISSION IS TO HELOA ND HEAL THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN EFFECTED BY INCARCERATION. OUR QUEST IS TO BE THE RESOURCE THAT THIS POPULATION AND THEIR FAMILIES NEED. IN ORDER TO BE MADE WHOLE AFTER SUCH A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE.

Description

We were established in 2020 to raise awareness about Covid 19 in our prisons. in that we began to expose other things.Like excessive use of force and lack of healthcare. We launched a two year project to put body cameras on corrections officers and I ma pleased to say that. As of May 1 of this year. All corrections officers will have them in Ohios prisons. We have several annual projects such as our fan project where we raise funds to distribute fans inside of Ohios prisons during the summer months. So far we have distributed 800 fans in 2 years. We also have our Christmas program where we provide Christmas for children with incarcerated parents. We have serves about 100 kids and 30 families in 2 years. Lastly we have our womens program POW Protect Our Women. That will help these women on their journey to freedmen and sobriety.
