Mentors serve as supporters and advocates helping our participants reach the goals they have set. Many of our participants have little to no support system, our hope is that the mentors can be that for their mentee. Our mentors do not have to have any background or experience in social services. We do provide mentor training and additional support for our mentors throughout their volunteerin role. Mentors need to be 18 years old and be able to commit to meeting approximately every other week for a year.

Mission Statement

Our mission includes providing suits to women, and employment retention programs. We offer women ongoing support as they successfully transition into the workforce. Dress for Success relies on the financial contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteer efforts of individuals and companies in our community who are committed to impacting change in women’s lives. Dress for Success Kansas City is a program of Connections to Success, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Keisha’s Closet at Dress for Success Kansas City. Keisha Clay was a dedicated volunteer with Dress for Success Kansas City and our local parent organization, Connections to Success. When she passed away in 2019, her family and friends supported a redesign of our boutique in her honor. Now named Keisha’s Closet, the boutique continues her legacy of service and care for others. We were blessed to know Keisha and are grateful that her legacy will impact the lives of women in Kansas City.

We empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Dress for Success empowers women to transform their lives and re-envision their futures through services, tools and professional attire to secure employment and advance their careers. Our programs equip women with confidence and community w hich that help s build self-defined success and both personal and professional renewal. The women we help often pay it forward, supporting the next woman who needs a hand.
