The Bread Project is looking for a Social Media Manager to join our team and make a difference!

About The Bread Project

The Bread Project is a non profit organization that provides meals for the food insecure and workforce development for low income individuals. Our services help Bay Area residents overcome multiple barriers to employment, and acquire new job skills and jobs in the food industry. We offer food prep and baking job training and job placement in a 5-week program serving primarily immigrants, homeless and the formerly incarcerated. There’s follow up and job support for another 11 months. Whether starting a new life following incarceration or as an immigrant or refugee, securing gainful employment at a living wage are keys to self- confidence, family stability, and economic self-sufficiency.

  • You're a creative storyteller. You can craft compelling captions, identify eye-catching visuals, and bring The Bread Project's impact to life online.

  • You're a team player. You're excited to collaborate with our passionate staff and learn from social media experts.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

  • A knack for videography or photo editing.

  • Experience crafting engaging social media content for nonprofits or social causes.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with the board of directors to develop and implement a strategic social media plan to raise awareness and grow our online community.

  • Craft engaging social media posts (text, images, and videos) that showcase The Bread Project's stories and impact.

  • Schedule and publish content across our social media platforms.

  • Monitor online conversations and engage with our audience.

  • Assist with social media analytics and track our progress.

  • Time commitment - 5-10 hours a month

  • Build your portfolio and develop your social media skills.
