As the Event Experience Chair, your focus is leading with mission and impact to make PurpleStride a fun and memorable event for all attendees! This includes areas such as special guest(s), opening and closing ceremonies (including implementation of the script), guest speaker(s)/emcee, children’s activities, food and beverage, survivor/caregiver recognition, photography, DJ/Band, music selection, walk course management, event village layout approval, and affiliate presence.

You will also partner with the PurpleStride Chair and your staff partner to submit contracts and invoices for experiential vendors such as the DJ/Band, balloons, décor, etc.
The PurpleStride experience is very personal and special for participants as most are there in honor of a loved one or even themselves. When planning the event, envision the entire "participant journey" - from the moment they arrive to the time that they leave - so that we can make this an inspiring and impactful experience for everyone.

The "spirit" of PurpleStride should be apparent from the moment the first participant arrives. Aside from the walk itself, this event is about creating a sense of community and hope among those who are passionate about fighting pancreatic cancer. Keep this in mind as you plan - and remember - that often it’s the little things that add "sparkle spirit" and truly make a difference!

Location:

Mission Statement

Our mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge and advocating for patients.

Description

PanCAN was the first organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer in a comprehensive way, and for more than two decades, we’ve grown a nationwide movement tackling the disease from all angles.

  • Research: We fund transformative research - everything from early detection to innovative new treatment approaches.
  • Patient Services: We provide information about treatment options, diet and nutrition, support resources and more, and we can answer all your questions along the way.
  • Advocacy: We work with thousands of grassroots advocates to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer, and we get results.
  • Community: Be part of our movement! You can volunteer locally, participate in a PurpleStride community event or host your own fundraiser.
