ORGANIZATION: FOOD FOR THE CURE

Food for the Cure is looking for volunteers that are wanting to take their time to give back in a fun way. We will be in charge of running a food booth September 14th and 15th at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. Booths must be prepped, ready, and open by 10am till 7pm. We will then have to put food away and clean up the booth before leaving that evening. As long as we have enough volunteers we will be allowed to enjoy the festivities in shifts. The more that signup the longer each person can go have fun. Once you commit and signup you will be given forms and a handbook to read and sign. Please only volunteer if you are a hard worker, have good customer service, and are on time.

With your hard work Food for the Cure will receive money for running the booth which we will use to fund our organic garden. Food for the Cure grows and donates organic food free of charge to University Health's Oncology Department and to other cancer patients in the Kansas City Metro Area. Your help is greatly apperciated!

About FOOD FOR THE CURE

Location:

Mission Statement

Our mission is to create programs that teach people how organic food may improve our health and to give free organic food to cancer patients in the Kansas City Metro Area.

Description

Here at Food for the Cure we are a small non profit with a huge heart. We currently grow an organic style garden at the organic community garden located at the St. Peter and All Saint Episcopal Church (located in the Red Bridge Area) every year. We take all the organic produce that we grow and give it to Cancer Patients that would like to have it to help in their battle with cancer completely free of charge. In 2020 we were able to give 220 pounds of food to 7 Cancer Patients. In 2021 we were allowed to expand to 2 whole plots. That will measure a whopping 48'x30'. We run on 100 percent volunteers and now more than ever we need your help with the garden. So please signup and volunteer today! With the power of Community we can.
