The Gilda’s Club program is a one-of-a-kind model of social and emotional support, professionally facilitated by licensed mental health professionals and designed by and for those who know first-hand what it means to live with cancer. Our program honors all viewpoints and encourages members to create a customized plan based on their personal needs.

Our comprehensive, evidence-based program rests on five cornerstones: support, healthy lifestyle, education, social opportunities, and information & referrals. As a Virtual Chair Yoga Instructor, you'd lead a class as part of our healthy lifestyle cornerstone.

An individual for this opportunity must be an experienced instructor in teaching Chair Yoga, be able to adapt the poses to those with limited mobility, and open to learning how to utilize Zoom.

Classes can be any frequency from weekly to bi-weekly to monthly. They can be a one-time mini-series or ongoing.

As of July/August, we are scheduling for the October through December program calendar.

Calendars are set for three months: January through March, April through June, July through September, and October through December. The planning process begins shortly after a new calendar is released.

Please email Program@GildasClubMN.org with your background, experience, and ideas for a class.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.

Description

No one should face cancer alone. These simple words sum up the Gilda’s Club Minnesota’ philosophy. We provide the emotional and social support that is proven to improve overall health outcomes. Our clubhouse is a healing environment where individuals learn from one another, while receiving guidance from licensed mental health professionals.

Inside the red doors, Gilda’s Club Minnesota is a welcoming community, a place to go for free support for everyone living with any type of cancer - men, women, teens and children - along with their families, friends and caregivers. As an affiliate of the worldwide Cancer Support Community, our program comes with more than 30 years of expertise behind it, a one-of-a-kind, evidence-based program of social and emotional support.

The Gilda’s Club philosophy is built upon three core principles:

  • Our program is free to everyone, all the time.
  • Our clubhouse is home-like, warm and welcoming.
  • At Gilda’s Club, people learn to live fully with cancer, whatever the outcome.
