Join with others across the country as a grassroots advocate for peace!

The Advocacy Teams network is made up of over 1,500 individuals from across the country who use their power as constituents to drive change in Congress.

Each year, the Advocacy Teams work on a national campaign related to peace, in addition to other national peace and justice issues. We welcome you to join us this year as our community of 130+ local teams across 48 states tell Congress NO MORE WISHLISTS FOR WEAPONS AND WAR.

We are looking for folks in Arizona ready to collaborate with others both in and out of state to end endless war. Currently, there are 2 teams in Arizona, Northwest AZ and South AZ, who also work together as a statewide network.

Activities include:

  • Fostering a community of advocates in your community or state
  • Building a working relationship with your members of Congress through regular constituent visits and creative advocacy actions
  • Writing letters to the editor and op-eds
  • Engaging with local media and other peace and justice groups, where opportunities arise

Volunteers will be supported by national staff and regional leaders through monthly live calls, one-on-ones as requested, and a vibrant network of other advocacy teams across 48 states.

We are here to support your advocacy for peace -- so join us now!

About Friends Committee on National Legislation

Location:

245 Second St NE, Washington, DC 20002, US

Mission Statement

We seek a world free of war and the threat of war. We seek a society with equity and justice for all. We seek a community in which every person's potential may be fulfilled. We seek an earth restored.

Description

The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) fields the largest team of registered peace lobbyists in Washington, DC. Founded in 1943 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), FCNL's multi-issue advocacy connects historic Quaker testimonies on peace, equality, simplicity, and truth with peace and social justice issues which the United States government is or should be addressing. FCNL is nonpartisan.

FCNL currently lobbies on peace issues, the peaceful prevention of deadly conflict, nuclear disarmament, immigration, Native American issues, environment, and federal budget priorities.
