San Francisco Opera Guild Education Volunteer Opportunity

San Francisco Opera Guild is seeking qualified and reliable volunteers for fall, 2024 to work as docents in the premier program, Opera Together. Opera Together partners with nearly one hundred Bay Area and Northern California schools each fall, producing a reduced version of a classic opera with professional singers and student performers from each school in an assembly setting. Docents are assigned to each school to help facilitate the preparation for the program, act as a liaison between the home office and school teachers, and introduce the production the day of the assembly. As ambassadors of San Francisco Opera Guild, docents should also be able to speak effectively about the organization and its programming.

The opera for fall 2024 is La Cenerentola by Rossini. This is a wonderful opportunity to see students light up while performing alongside professional artists, and to contribute to the magic that only music and drama can bring.

Volunteers should have experience working with artists and young people, be confident speakers, have reliable transportation, and strong communication skills, engaging with technology (email, online documents, and zoom).
