Purpose:
To provide bereavement services to loved ones of patients who have passed and during the services being provided to the patient while being on with Stillwater Hospice.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with preparing materials for program support.
- Coordinate and complete mailings.
- Provide administrative support for program-related needs.
- Provide support during the 13-month period following the passing of a patient through mailings, support groups and phone calls.
- Provide emotional support by using active listening skills, providing education regarding grief responses, provides information regarding available community resources, etc.
- Records accurately, timely, and objective documentation on each activity.
- Work alongside Bereavement Coordinator to gain an understanding on: appropriate demeanor for bereavement calls and visits, completion of assessments, etc.
- Time commitment of 2-3 hours a week.
- Complete mandatory trainings.
Schedule:
Volunteer Hours are completed between the timeframe
Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM
