We at soQuiet are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our volunteer sQuad team as a Clinician Captain, Misophonia Clinician Project Coordinator. In this volunteer role, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and implementing various projects aimed at supporting clinicians who work with clients experiencing misophonia and growing the number of medical resources available to people who are affected by misophonia.

This position is ideal for someone interested in the clinical aspects of misophonia and/orinterest in gaining essential experience in managing online clinician directories and related CMS platforms. This is a great opportunity for a person with experience in content management systems, a basic understanding of medical practices and terminology, and a creative, self-motivated approach to project management.

Our Mission: soQuiet offers advocacy, support, and resources for people who suffer from misophonia so that they may lead productive and serene lives.

Time Commitment:

  • 3-5 hours/week
  • 6 month commitment to the role
  • No set work times; work at times that are convienient to your schedule.
  • Entirely remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Creation and Management:

  • Directly manage a major directory website of misophonia clinicians, including responding to issues, adding new members, communicating with clinicians and their potential clients, streamlining workflows to better assist members, creating and improving online content for clarity and factualness, and more.
  • Develop and implement projects that provide resources and support to clinicians treating clients with misophonia.
  • Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Utilize and improve content management systems (CMS) to organize and update website content.

Content Development:

  • Create informative and engaging content for the public and clinicians, including guides, best practice documents, and educational materials.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, up-to-date, and adheres to medical standards and terminology.
  • Proven ability to write with clarity and truthfulness.
  • At least some experience in graphic design and web design practices.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review project materials for accuracy and consistency, identifying and correcting any mistakes.
  • Ability to use resources [online and via collaborators] to fact check information and communicate with earnestness and honesty.
  • Implement feedback from clinicians, collaborators, and other stakeholders to continuously improve project outcomes.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with medical professionals, researchers, the soQuiet Board and staff, and other volunteers to gather insights and information.
  • Facilitate communication between team members to ensure smooth project execution.

Creative Problem-Solving:

  • Apply creative thinking to develop innovative solutions and strategies for supporting clinicians.
  • Identify challenges and devise effective ways to overcome them.

Self-Motivated Project Management:

  • Take initiative in managing projects from conception to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) like Wordpress or similar, basic web design concepts, and familiarity with various digital tools, such as Squarespace, Canva, and others.
  • Basic knowledge of medical and/or psychiatric practices and terminology, particularly related to misophonia.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to recognize and correct mistakes.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
