As a Volunteer Website Designer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence and user experience. Your creative skills and technical expertise will contribute to designing and maintaining a visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive website that aligns with our organization's goals and values.

Responsibilities:

  1. Website Design:
    • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to understand the organization's branding and design requirements.
    • Design and develop visually appealing and intuitive website layouts, incorporating elements such as images, graphics, videos, and interactive features.
    • Ensure a consistent and cohesive design across all website pages and sections.
    • Optimize website design for various devices and screen sizes to provide an exceptional user experience.
  2. Content Integration:
    • Work with content creators to ensure that text, images, and multimedia content are integrated seamlessly into the website design.
    • Implement SEO best practices to enhance the website's search engine visibility.
  3. Website Maintenance:
    • Regularly update and maintain the website content, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
    • Monitor website performance, identifying and addressing any technical issues, broken links, or glitches.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to recommend improvements for the website's design and functionality.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and IT, to gather requirements and feedback for website improvements.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and discussions to contribute creative ideas and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in website design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.
  • Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, PHP, and responsive design techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous website design projects is preferred but not mandatory.
