Mission Statement
MitoAction is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving quality of life for adults and children affected by mitochondrial disease through programs and resources centered around support, education, and advocacy. We strive to increase awareness worldwide about mitochondrial diseases and to empower individuals living with the disease to live as fully as possible while struggling with this chronic and disabling disease.
Description
Based in Boston, MA, MitoAction was incorporated in 2005 in order to fulfill the need for advocacy for patients affected by mitochondrial disease. Since that time, MitoAction has connected patients, caregivers, family members, clinicians and researchers internationally with supportive tools and educational information targeted especially for patients and their families.
