Do you want to give back to your community? Do you love cats, chickens, and baby goats? Cultivate Care Farms in Bolton, MA is looking for volunteers to help with feeding our herd. Cultivate Care Farms is a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of children and adolescents through outpatient Farm-Based mental health counseling and community outreach. Our mission is to empower clients and the community in realizing their mental health goals through Farm-Based Therapy, wellness programming, and community outreach. Spend time in our lovely sanctuary and enjoy the sights and sounds of sweet, loving farm animals!
We are currently seeking volunteers who can feed the animals on Wednesday or Friday mornings. Volunteers typically arrive between 8-11am on weekday mornings. Volunteer responsibilities include feeding and watering our herd, which takes about 1-1.5 hrs. We ask that volunteers take at least 2 feeding shifts per month. Most of our volunteers prefer to come at the same time weekly.
Volunteers must be comfortable pushing a wheelbarrow, lifting hay and grain, pulling a hose/watering animals, and bending down/reaching up. Volunteers must also be comfortable working outside in rain or shine, walking on inclines, and wearing appropriate clothing at all times (weather-appropriate gear, closed-toed shoes at all times on-site). Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with goats, chickens, and other livestock.
