Are you interested in making a significant impact on a student’s life? Come join our incredible volunteer team at Community Education Partnerships (CEP)!
CEP is a non-profit organization that works to serve youth experiencing houselessness and/or housing insecurity in the Bay Area. This includes providing education support through supply donations, one-on-one tutoring, and our group programs. By volunteering with us through one-on-one tutoring in Oakland, you can help build up a child’s confidence and instill joy in education that will help set them up for academic success, as well as provide a consistent, safe presence in their lives.
As a volunteer tutor with CEP, you may:
- Work 1-on-1 with a student for at least one hour a week, virtually or in-person
- Join our in-person group programs in the Bay Area
- Provide homework support
- Be a reading buddy/mentor
- Play literacy and math games
- Have fun!
No teaching experience is required and anyone 16 years or older can volunteer. Session times are flexible and all of the necessary training is provided. Students range from pre-K through high school and are matched with tutors based on the tutor’s age and grade preferences, as well as their availability.
