Mission Statement

Give to Haiti is an organization with the goals of reducing hunger through a network of organizations and programs, as well as creating opportunities for people to become self-sufficient. We want to help those who are less fortunate and have been forgotten by making their lives better, making it easier for them to make decisions and take care of themselves, and giving them the tools they need to be successful. The goal of Give to Haiti is to rebuild the community in a way that is environmentally responsible while also providing the people with hope, pride, and dignity.

Description

After the 7.0 Mw earthquake rocked Haiti in 2010, Mr. Louis took a four-year mission trip and moved there to provide a hand in any way he could. About 3 million individuals were impacted, and their living conditions were far from humane. He helped the less fortunate by giving money from his own pocket and by soliciting contributions from others. The mission's initial objective was to provide aid to locals in need. The charity Give to Haiti had a seed sown for future growth.

Mr. Louis returned to the United States and was shocked to see people living in tents under bridges and in parks and sleeping in their cars and in parking lots. They must eat out of trash cans or go hungry because they can't afford medical care for conditions like HIV/AIDS, diabetes, and cancer. Mr. Louis's four years in Haiti have taught him to be more attuned to his neighborhood and to offer assistance in various ways servicing children and young adults, women, immigrants and refugees in the community.
