Utah's air quality problem is largely driven by the pollution emitted from our buildings, homes, and cars. But many communities across Utah are not familiar with, or experience trouble accessing, the energy efficiency tools that would help them reduce their impact on air quality and climate change. If you're looking to empower your community and help solve this problem, then we've got an opportunity for you!
Utah Clean Energy is seeking the help of a small group of volunteers to support our Empower Communities initiative through community engagement work. As an Energy Outreach Volunteer, you would connect community members with energy efficiency and clean energy resources by tabling at a few public-facing events per month. You'll have the opportunity to get to know Utah Clean Energy staff, develop professional experience in the clean energy field, network with community partners and neighbors, and contribute to a cleaner energy future!

Mission Statement
Utah Clean Energy leads and accelerates the clean energy transformation with vision and expertise. We are committed to creating a future that ensures healthy, thriving communities for all, empowered and sustained by clean energy.
Description
In January 2001, a volunteer-based public interest group was formed (Utahns for an Energy Efficient Economy) to promote energy efficiency and clean energy technologies to the public and policy makers. During that year, Utahns for an Energy Efficiency Economy increased its involvement in utility regulatory proceedings that affected the deployment of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
In 2002, Utahns for an Energy Efficient Economy incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and changed its name to Utah Clean Energy. We broadened our outreach to the clean energy business community, local governments, congregations, and universities/colleges. Through advocacy, education, and diverse partnerships, Utah Clean Energy continues to advance renewable energy and energy efficiency in Utah and the Western Region. Today, Utah Clean Energy has become Utah’s independent resource for clean energy policy, regulatory, and consumer information.
