Looking to gain community service? Eager to acquire new skills to enrich your resume? Volunteer as a Tax Professional with VITA!
For the past 22 years, the Fremont Family Resource Center's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program has been dedicated to offering free tax preparation services to income-eligible individuals and families. Our commitment extends beyond tax preparation; we also provide education and support on housing and financial matters through various programs and services offered at the Fremont Family Resource Center.
We are currently seeking volunteers for various roles within our organization: Tax Preparers, Greeters, Schedulers, In-Take Specialists, and Translators (Spanish, Chinese, Dari/Farsi, Punjabi, and American Sign Language). No prior experience required! Free training will be provided. Join us in making a meaningful impact in our community. We will contact you after August 1st, 2024.

Description
The Fremont FRC is a collaborative of 25+ City, County, State, and non-profit social service agencies working together under one roof to serve families in Southern Alameda County, including Fremont, Union City, Newark and Hayward. The City of Fremont’s Human Services Department is the lead agency - the FRC Core Team - and provides the key staff who administers the FRC and coordinates the many initiatives underway at the Center.
We provide a variety of services to South County residents including:
- adult and youth employment
- adult and youth counseling
- case management
- childcare information, referrals and subsidies
- housing information
- mental health services
- public benefits
- health insurance counseling
- nutrition services for mothers and children
- services for veterans and those with disabilities
- mediation & legal services
- advocacy
- financial counseling & coaching, asset-building programs; tax preparation services
- workshops and support groups
- on-site drop-in childcare.
