Feeding time at the shelter is often the most exciting for our shelter pets and is essential to their overall wellbeing. Meal preparation volunteers prepare evening meals for our shelter pets. In addition, we use this time to provide enrichment to our shelter pets through their food. By making it more challenging, like putting kibble in a puzzle feeder, the pets have to think about how to get their meal. This burns mental calories resulting in relaxed and content pets ready for a good night’s sleep!
