By visiting a senior in their home, or picking up the phone and simply having a conversation, you can do so much to alleviate the loneliness and isolation that many seniors face. In addition, you may be able to make a new friend (and hear some interesting stories!) in the process. This is a very flexible opportunity, and visits/calls can be made according to your schedule. Reach out today to make a difference in the life of a senior!
About us: East Side Elders helps seniors live full and rewarding lives - in the home and community they want - for as long as possible and as healthy and well as possible. Our teams of volunteers, staff and community members provide a wide range of services and activities that give the necessary support and resources to our elderly neighbors wherever they call home.
Qualifications:
Must pass a background check
Able to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds in a caring, courteous manner
- In-person friendly visits require current COVID-19 vaccine and current seasonal flu vaccine and completion of the Elder Abuse and Awareness and Intervention online training (details provided when onboarded as a volunteer).
