About LITTLE ORPHANS KITTEN RESCUE

Location:

PO Box 43786, LOUISVILLE, KY 40253, US

Mission Statement

"Saving Tiny Lives" Our mission is to care for orphaned kittens under six weeks of age and find permanent placement for them with highly qualified families.

Description

Little Orphans Kitten Rescue (LOKR) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2011 to provide care for orphaned neonatal kittens or "bottle babies" (typically under 6 weeks old). Motherless nursing kittens are typically euthanized by shelters and not accepted by other rescues because they require constant around-the-clock care, just like a human infant. Through our "Shelter Kitten" program LOKR supports and encourages Cincinnati area shelters in their efforts to go "no kill" by caring for the babies they receive on condition that the shelter accept the return of them when weaned and agree to adopt and not euthanize them.
