Volunteer to make a difference in the lives of homebound seniors in Woodland! Spend approximately 90 minutes a week delivering hot meals to those who can't cook for themselves. This is not just a meal delivery; you become the highlight of their day, providing not only food but also companionship.
Choose a shift on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between 10:30 am and 11:00 am. You can volunteer daily, once a week, twice a month, or be a substitute as needed. All you need is a current driver's license, car insurance, and the willingness to undergo a background check and orientation. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Using your own vehicle, deliver hot meals to 12-18 homes, taking about an hour and a half. If driving isn't your preference, deliver with a partner - you can be a runner and assist with deliveries. Faith-based, service, or business groups are welcome to volunteer and share routes and schedules. Make a positive impact by providing both nourishment and friendship to those in need!
Please contact us for more information on how you can get involved or to hear about other volunteer opportunities! Thank you!

Description
Meals on Wheels Yolo County has been dedicated to ensuring that no senior in our community goes hungry or feels alone. Our mission is simple yet profound: to deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors while providing vital social connections.
Our programs are designed to support the health and independence of older adults, allowing them to remain in their homes with dignity. Each meal we deliver is a lifeline, not only nourishing the body but also lifting the spirits of those we serve.
Thanks to the unwavering support of our volunteers and donors, we have been able to achieve remarkable milestones. But our work is far from done. We need compassionate volunteers to join our cause. By dedicating just 90 minutes once a week, bi-weekly, once a month, or act as an on-call substitute, you can make a significant impact. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization, delivering more than just meals-they deliver hope, care, and connection.
Join us in our mission to ensure that every senior in Yolo County feels valued and supported. Together, we can make a difference, one meal at a time.
