Good Sam in Loveland is in need of multiple volunteers for various different tasks. However, all include personable experiences, relationship building and connection focused. Some are short term and some are longer term, reach out so we can help place you where you think it the best fit!

HEALTH CARE Happy Hours (ongoing opportunity): 2-4pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.

• Help set up the room (tablecloths, drink menus)
• Help gather residents to the activity space
• Help engage residents during the event, help serve beer, wine, pop, pretzels
• Help residents back to their rooms after the activity, help staff clean up!

FRIENDLY VISITOR A friendly visitor is needed for a Health Care gentleman resident who would like someone to both go fishing at the ponds with and play pool with. He is able to transport himself, just needs a person to go with him and help him with the equipment. MONTHLY PIZZA PARTY - HEALTH CARE (ongoing opportunity)

• 2nd Tuesday of each month
• 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
• Village Corner
• Work with Activities Staff to help facilitate this monthly event
• Help set up the room
• Help to gather residents who are signed up to attend
• Help to distribute beverages, pizza and dessert
• Help to engage the residents in an organized discussion or game activity while they are eating
• Also enjoy a complimentary Pizza of your own, and eat with the residents!
• Help to clean up the room and help residents back to their rooms!

HELP A HEALTH CARE RESIDENT (OR TWO) GET TO CHURCH AND BACK - SUNDAY MORNINGS (ongoing opportunity) Help transport one or two residents to Worship Service and back each Sunday!

• Sunday Mornings
• Transport the resident(s) to the Chapel between 10:00 and 10:15 am
• Transport them back to Health Care following the service

ACTIVITIES HELPMATE - HEALTH CARE (ongoing opportunity) Work side by side with Activities Staff and Nursing Staff to help with a variety of tasks that benefit the resident. Shifts available everyday from 7:30-11:30am. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Check in on residents in their rooms and assist with light tasks (open blinds, obtain items they need, etc..)
• Deliver warm blankets to residents
• Offer books, magazines, activities supplies
• Bring Daily Activities flyer to residents and encourage them to participate in activities
• Help residents get to and from any activities of choice
• Help deliver breakfast room trays, and remove trays following the breakfast meal

RECEPTION DESK - HEALTH CARE We are looking for volunteers for the following weekly shifts: Wednesdays 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturdays 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm Sundays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm RESIDENT BIRTHDAY PROGRAM (ongoing opportunity) Help us organize the Birthday Program for residents in Health Care and Assisted Living!

• Prepare the birthday cards each month for each resident with a birthday
• Write the initial message, and then get to activities staff to also sign
• Prepare the Birthday Bag and Balloons on the day of the Birthday
• Organize to deliver the Birthday Greeting to the residents (usually over the noon meal) and gather a few other stfaff members to sign and wish Happy Birthday to the resident
• Anything else special you can think of to make the birthday a special day!
• All materials and workspace provided to you by the activities department.

POLISH NAILS FOR RESIDENTS *TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE (ongoing opportunity) One volunteer is needed starting November 1st for possibly a few months to Polish Nails for 4 residents in Health Care. Schedule is Fridays 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm. All supplies provided by activities department. Another volunteer is needed to be available 2 hours per week (schedule is flexible, but one determined, the same day/time is best) to polish nails for residents in health care or assisted living! All supplies provided by Activities Department.
