At MVLE, our mission is to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to find their independence through community-based social activities, supported employment, and customized skills training. We are in need of a volunteer receptionist to run the front desk throughout the work week.
Our goal is to create a team of volunteers that can cover our business hours of 8:00AM-4:00PM from Monday-Friday.
In this position you will be involved in answering phone calls, welcoming guests and volunteers in the front door, and helping with administrative tasks. You will also work alongside some of our individuals that are training to develop business skills through learning tasks associated with being a receptionist.

Description
Since its founding in 1971, MVLE has been creating opportunities for people living with disabilities to work and participate successfully in the Northern Virginia community. During its 51-year history, MVLE has continuously demonstrated progressive fiscal growth and service expansion. Today, MVLE serves more than 450 individuals with disabilities in a variety of center-based and community-based support and employment service choices and opportunities. While MVLE has a philosophical commitment to facilitating and supporting the employment of as many individuals as possible in community-based worksites, it is also committed to maintaining a viable and supportive facility-based program which provides community access activities. MVLE's aim is to maximize each individual's functional capacity through the acquisition of useful skills that enable him or her to more fully participate in community life. An integral component of this approach is MVLE's array of center-based, community-based vocational and day support services, which provide multiple options for customizing each participants services, training and support. MVLE also operates five AbilityOne programs (formerly JWOD).
