The Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park is Asombro's outdoor classroom for field trips and the public is. Friends of the CDNP help keep the park a clean and beautiful retreat for all who go there, and share the wonders of the desert with visitors
Join us at the CDNP on the 2nd Saturday of even numbered months, 8:00-11:00.On Saturday work days, we need help with maintenance like raking, pruning, or painting.
Or become a caretaker by helping us identify plants and animals, monitor for vandalism, or helping at public events. All skill levels and abilities welcome.

The Asombro Institute for Science Education (home of the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park) is dedicated to increasing scientific literacy and fostering an understanding of the Chihuahuan Desert through hands-on, engaging science activities for school groups and the public.
Description
The Asombro Institute for Science Education is a non-profit organization that serves more than 20,000 kindergarten through 12 grade students, 800 teachers, and 5,000 other adults through class visits, field trips, teacher workshops, and public events. Most of our work happens in schools and on field trips, but we also host public events at our outdoor classroom, the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park.
