Program Specialist Job Description:

The Program Specialist will play a crucial role in managing classroom activities and implementing programs in schools and community settings for Global Legacy Network. This individual will work directly with youth from elementary school through college, fostering an environment conducive to growth, learning, and development. The Program Specialist must be located within 25 miles of Durham, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation: Implement educational, health, and social programs tailored to the needs of youth in under-served communities.
  • Classroom Management: Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for all participants.
  • Youth Engagement: Engage with youth participants to foster positive relationships, provide mentorship, and offer support in achieving personal and academic goals.
  • Community Outreach: Conduct outreach activities to promote program participation and build partnerships with local organizations and agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience working with youth from elementary school through college, preferably in under-served communities.
  • Strong understanding of classroom management techniques and program development principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with youth, families, and community members.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Global Legacy Network, Inc, including a passion for empowering youth and promoting social justice.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
