Seeking Plumbing Engineer/MEP to Design Plumbing for Earthbag Construction Eco-Village

We are seeking an MEP/Plumbing Engineer and Designer to finalize the plumbing plan and create informational plumbing tutorials for this sustainable village design: https://www.onecommunityglobal.org/earthbag-village/

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Have software access and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other plumbing design software
  • Ability to create detailed designs of plumbing systems for various projects, including potable water, waste, storm drainage, and fire suppression systems
  • Experience in conducting cost analysis to ensure project feasibility and budget compliance
  • Experience with plumbing design compliance with local, state, and national building codes and standards
  • Strong communication skills in a virtual work setting
  • Able to creatively solve complex problems
  • Proficient in or willing to learn Google Docs and Dropbox for collaboration purposes
  • Willing to commit a minimum of 10 weekly volunteer hours for at least 2 months (remote)
THE TASK

As part of our engineering team, your will play a crucial role in designing sophisticated plumbing systems for our open source Earthbag Village. You will build off of existing work (about 30% done) to complete the potable water, sewage and waste management, stormwater drainage, and fire suppression systems. This role requires a meticulous approach to design and planning, ensuring all systems are not only compliant with current standards, but are also optimized for LEED Platinum sustainability certification.
