THE POSITION

As an Admin Volunteer at Black, Young and Empowered (B.Y.E.) nonprofit, you serve as the backbone of daily operations, ensuring that B.Y.E.'s projects and programs run smoothly. Reporting directly to the E.D. and Grant Coordinator, you will gain insights into the intricacies of nonprofit management. Your contributions are essential in maintaining the efficiency and impact of B.Y.E.'s initiatives to empower Black youth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Grant Research and Coordination- Assist the Executive Director (E.D.) and Grant Coordinator in researching and identifying potential grants.
  • Compile and organize information on grant opportunities.
  • Assign relevant grants to appropriate members of the grant team.
  • Support the preparation of grant applications, including gathering necessary documentation and information.
  • Track the status of ongoing grant applications and ensure timely submissions.
  • Help manage awarded grants by tracking deadlines and deliverables.
  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation required by funders.
  • Provide administrative support to the grant team, including scheduling meetings and maintaining communication.
  • Maintain and organize grant-related data, including application records, funding amounts, and reporting requirements.
  • Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of all grant-related records.

Goal 1: Financial Independence and Career Advancement
- Financial Empowerment Hub: Equips youth with financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills.
- Youth Job Creation and Training: Provides opportunities above entry-level positions for skill development.

Goal 2: Literacy Enhancement and Diverse Representation
- Reading Literacy Enhancement Program: Closes the reading literacy gap and promotes Black authors in curriculums.

Goal 3: Holistic Mental Health Enhancement
- Holistic Mental Wellness Program: Enhances mental well-being through yoga and meditation.

Goal 4: Performance and Film-making Excellence
- Performing Arts Empowerment Program: Cultivates talent in acting, musical theater, and film-making.
