The Adopt A Stream Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist us on-site at the Northwest Stream Center, in the Native Plant Yard. We have a couple hundred native plants that need watering and care during the warm summer months ahead. These plants will be planted along salmon streams at one of AASF's restoration sites in the fall, but until then we need help keeping them healthy and watered.
It takes about 90 min to water all the plants and they need to be watered three-four times a week.
Shifts are flexible and can be dependent on volunteer's availability, but they would ideally take place during the NWSC's open hours Tuesday(s)-Saturday(s) 10 AM- 4PM.
Volunteers may be able to get shifts on Mondays or up until 5PM during the weekdays if necessary.
Species include; paper birch, cascara, serviceberry, Pacific nine bark, Pacific crabapple, black twin berry, red elderberry, Douglas-fir, salmonberry, red flowering currant, snowberry and Sitka spruce.
Please reach out to Lynsey at aasf@streamkeeper.org for more information about this opportunity!
