The role of the Volunteer Coordinator, which is a volunteer position; is responsible for interviewing, hiring, overseeing, and training volunteers; placing them in appropriate roles based on their qualifications. As a coordinator, you will have excellent organizational, listening and communication skills to understand the needs of the Committee Chair and match them to the appropriate volunteer. You will maintain accurate records about volunteers’ progress, work alongside each Committee Chair to ensure their needs are met and address any needs that arise. The goal is to ensure our organization is always staffed with the best and reliable individuals; and correctly utilized for the fulfillment of our mission.
Your duties as a Volunteer Coordinator:
- Sourcing and recruiting volunteers through various techniques, matching volunteers with appropriate opportunities based on this data
- Collecting information on availabilities and skills
- Arranging for appropriate training when needed
- Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied
- Ensure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated
- Maintain files, record, applications, and other data concerning volunteer program
- Develop and maintain complete and accurate records including volunteer policies, position descriptions, standards of conduct and where applicable, criminal background checks
- Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities
- Develop and provide quarterly and annual reports to Committee Chairs’ on all individual and group volunteer activities to include number of volunteers, number of hours and in-kind contributions value of service
- Performs other duties as required

Description
Beautiful Broken Vessels was established in 2020 to serve the public and bring awareness to the public heath crisis around domestic violence and sexual assault. Beautiful Broken Vessels is an organization founded to prevent young ladies from entering the cycle of abuse.
Beautiful Broken Vessels is a nonprofit agency providing educational, therapeutic, self-improvement and self-empowerment services for adolescents and young adults in the Triangle, Greater Triad and surrounding areas. Beautiful Broken Vessels goal is to provide resources and knowledge to young ladies so they can be strengthened to prevent themselves from entering into abusive and toxic relationships by providing preventive measures through psychoeducation in the form of therapeutic, self-improvement and self-empowerment services; promoting healthy relationships with self, inner circle and intimate partner relationships.
Beautiful Broken Vessels will focus on adolescents and young adults who are very impressionable during this phase where intersectionality and positionality amongst young adults within different generations (i.e. millennials, gen-z, gen-x, etc); affects how information is processed as well as their view of self as they transition into adulthood.
