The Second Chair Grant Researcher role is to support the primary grant researcher in identifying and pursuing funding opportunities for the organization or project. Your role as the second chair grant researcher is crucial in providing support to the primary grant researcher and contributing to the organization's efforts to secure funding for its programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in conducting research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission, goals, and project needs.
  • Helping to maintain databases and resources containing information about grant opportunities, deadlines, and application requirements.
  • Collaborating with the primary grant researcher to evaluate potential grant opportunities and assess their suitability and alignment with the organization's priorities.
  • Keeping informed about trends and developments in the grant funding landscape, and sharing relevant information with the grant research team.
  • Supporting efforts to establish and maintain relationships with funding agencies, Grantmakers, and other stakeholders to stay informed about funding opportunities.
  • Assisting in the development of grant proposals by gathering information, conducting research, and providing input on narrative content and supporting materials.
  • Helping to manage the grant application process, including tracking deadlines, coordinating with team members, and ensuring compliance with application requirements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of grant reports and progress updates required by funders, and ensuring timely submission and compliance with reporting guidelines.
  • Supporting the maintenance of accurate records of grant research activities, application submissions, and outcomes for reporting and future reference.
  • Collaborating with the primary grant researcher and organizational leadership to develop and refine grant-seeking strategies and priorities.
