ORGANIZATION: West Tuality Habitat for Humanity

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 2 people are interested

We have several group volunteering events coming up where volunteers will paint and help with neighborhood cleanups in Forest Grove and Cornelius. But we need volunteers to help take photos of these events! You can volunteer at just one event or at multiple events.

You need to have your own smart phone or digital camera and you need to know how to upload these to a shared space of your choosing - a Google photos drive, for instance, or DropBox, or download them onto a flashdrive you can pass onto us - so that we can access and use these photos within two business days of the volunteer event.

You will take photos of people at work, as well as posing together, smiling, having a nice time as they help others, participating in activities, doing presentations and celebrating the accomplishments of West Tuality Habitat. We then use these photos on social media, on our web site, in funding proposals, in reports about funding and more. If you look at the West Tuality Habitat Facebook page or Instagram page, you will see the kinds of volunteer photos we love best.

Please do not watermark photos. We are happy to give you credit for photos and, if you have a professional web site, we are happy to link to such in our online thank you.

This is a great role for someone interested in, or with existing experience in, public relations or event management. We are happy to sign off on any paperwork if you undertake this role for a class or if you want to do this for assigned community service. And you WILL be able to have the meal we're serving that evening (but please note you will have a VERY limited time to eat it!).

This role involves a lot of walking, standing and bending.

Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to any event site.

Again, you can volunteer at just one event or at multiple events. These group volunteering events are:

  • Wednesday, May 22, 12:30 - 3:30pm
  • Thursday, May 30, 9am - 1pm
  • Saturday, June 1, 9am - 1pm
  • Tuesday, June 4, 9am - 12:00pm
  • Wednesday, June 5, 9am - 1pm
  • Thursday, June 6, 9am - 1pm
  • TWO different groups at two different locations!
  • Saturday, June 8, 1 - 2:30pm
  • Saturday, June 15, 9 am - 1pm
Serious applicants only! Please sign up only if you know you are available for an event and will make this volunteering role and the required tasks a priority. When you apply here on VolunteerMatch, please note which date or dates you will be available.

We are happy to sign off on any paperwork if you undertake this role for a class or if you want to do this for assigned community service. We can also sign off on paperwork for the President's Service Award.

By involving volunteers, we involve the community in our work, so you can see first hand what our work entails. It also helps us put more funds into our home building and home repair programs, rather into staff costs.

Please note that we cannot provide childcare and volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Other restrictions may apply. During service, volunteers are representatives of Habitat for Humanity and our mission. In addition to complying with all laws, regulations and Habitat for Humanity policies, all volunteers are expected to follow Habitat’s Code of Conduct. Volunteers are asked to sign a liability waiver and a photo release.

We look forward to hearing from you!
