Position Title: Communications Director (Volunteer)

Organization: Future Arts
Location: Flexible/Remote

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week for 4 months (with the possibility to extend volunteer timeframe/stipend discussion based on grants received during time period).


Overview:

Join Future Arts, an innovative women-led organization dedicated to fostering creativity and empowerment through bridging arts + technology + community. Through various programs and initiatives, we strive to empower young individuals to explore their artistic talents, express themselves creatively, and build essential skills for their future.

Role Description:

As a Communications Director at Future Arts, you will play a vital role in enhancing our organization's visibility, outreach, and engagement. You will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to effectively convey our mission, programs, and impact to various stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, partner organizations, and the community at large.

Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation Strategy: Generate strategy for engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, website, and other communication channels.
  2. Social Media Oversight: Collaborate with Future Arts’ social media manager to advise on content scheduling, monitoring, copywriting, and interaction methods with community.
  3. Public Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets, influencers, and community partners to amplify our message and reach.
  4. Marketing Campaigns: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute campaigns to promote upcoming events, fundraisers, and initiatives.
  5. Graphic Design/Brand Management: Ensure that brand and marketing materials are visually aligned and promotional materials for digital and print use are on brand.
  6. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze communication metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure alignment of communication efforts with organizational goals and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms.
  • Experience in content creation, copywriting, and graphic design.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for arts education and youth empowerment.
