ABOUT FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE:
Friendship Circle provides assistance and support to 3,000 individuals with special needs and their families by providing recreational, social, educational, and vocational programming. In addition to helping those in need, the Friendship Circle enriches its vast network of volunteers by enabling them to reap the rewards of selfless giving. Friendship Circle also provides support to individuals and families struggling with isolation, addiction, and other family-related crises.
ABOUT OVERNIGHT CAMP:
Times: Mon - Fri
Session 1: July 29 - August 2
Session 2: August 5 - August 9
THIS OPPORUNITY IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS WHO ARE ENTERING 8TH GRADE OR ABOVE. Friendship Circle provides an incredible overnight camp experience for children and individuals with special needs. Located at the beautiful Camp North Star Reach in Pinckney, MI, multiple volunteers will be paired with a bunk of 8-10 campers to spend the day engaging in activities such as paddle boarding, games, a talent show, and more!
Volunteers will sleep in a separate volunteers only bunk, which is also utilized during break time and nightly volunteer activities. Volunteers will be kept separate from all campers during shower and changing time to ensure the privacy and safety of all involved. At overnight camp, volunteers are required to attend for a full session (Monday - Friday. Some exceptions can be made if a volunteer needs to arrive late or leave early. All meals will be provided.
