Job description

We are a non-profit currently in the process of exploring opportunities to acquire a small business aligned with our mission. To ensure a thorough decision-making process, we are seeking an experienced accountant to assist us in conducting comprehensive financial and operational due diligence.

Responsibilities:

Financial Document Analysis:

Review, analyze, and interpret financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assess the financial health and performance of potential acquisition targets.

Compliance Check:

Ensure that financial records comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Identify any potential red flags or areas of concern.

Financial Projections:

Collaborate with the acquisition team to develop and assess financial projections for the target businesses.

Risk Assessment:

Identify and evaluate financial risks associated with each potential acquisition.
Provide recommendations based on risk assessment.

Communication:

Clearly communicate findings to the acquisition team in a concise and understandable manner.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address any financial concerns.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an accountant, preferably with a background in due diligence or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advise board members pertaining to transition within and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.

Write-A-Book Foundation believes that expressive writing skill is a viable tool for people struggling with anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. To that end, we will remove barriers to book writing to enable personal and spiritual development and living a purposeful life.

We are advocates of using writing as a therapeutic, personal development, and self-empathy tool. We offer writing support and coaching through our free workshops. Our workshops have served people worldwide.
