If you have an interest in being a softball catcher and are looking for a meaningful opportunity, join the West Coast Echo all-women's blind baseball team! In this role, you'll make a significant impact in the world of adaptive sports!

Role Overview:

In this adapted form of baseball for the blind and visually impaired, the catcher's role is crucial in ensuring seamless communication between the pitcher and the blind or visually impaired batters. As a catcher, your primary job is to assist the pitcher in delivering consistent, accurate pitches while helping visually impaired players get settled in the batters box.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate & Communicate: Work closely with the pitcher to deliver consistent, accurate pitches that help batters make solid contact.
  • Learn Your Team: Understand each batter's swing mechanics to help the pitcher align pitches accordingly.
  • Assist & Lead: Guide visually impaired batters and help them set up in the batter's box.
  • Be a Player & Leader: Embrace your role as a player on the team while also providing leadership and motivation.
What We're Looking For:
  • Commitment & Dedication: This position calls for an athlete looking to be more than a volunteer. Our catchers are considered players and leaders of our beep baseball teams.
  • Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with players and coaches to build a supportive team environment.
Why Volunteer as a Catcher with Us?
  • Make a Difference: Help visually impaired athletes enjoy the game of beep baseball.
  • Be Part of History: Join the inaugural season of the second U.S. all-women's beep baseball team.
  • Lead & Inspire: Take on a leadership role in this groundbreaking team.
    • Have Fun & Catch: Enjoy the thrill of the game while contributing to a supportive sports community.
