One Community is a nonprofit all-volunteer sustainability think tank. Our volunteer team fluctuates between 100-200 team members and has included over 1000 volunteers representing more than 60 different countries. We are seeking an Electrical Designer/MEP with specialized knowledge in electrical layout design and cost analysis to join our dynamic team. If you are proficient in AutoCAD and knowledgeable about electrical design, fire protection codes, and LEED regulations, we would love your expertise to help finalize the electrical plan for this sustainable earthbag village: https://www.onecommunityglobal.org/earthbag-village/

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • LEED Certification or a comprehensive understanding of LEED regulations
  • Experience in electrical design, preferable in residential or community projects
  • Proficient in interpreting construction plans and specifications
  • AutoCAD license and access required
  • Strong understanding of electrical layout compliance to fire protection codes and systems
  • Able to effectively collaborate and operate within virtual work environments
  • Experience in electrical system cost analysis and/or estimation
  • Able to provide cost-effective suggests to improve project efficiency
  • Proficient in relevant software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design software
  • Able to creatively solve complex problems
  • Minimum of 10 weekly volunteer hours (work from home)
  • Minimum of 3+ month commitment
