PetConnect Rescue (PCR) is an animal welfare organization dedicated to saving dogs and cats at high risk of euthanasia. Our compassionate fosters, volunteers, and staff find loving homes for all the animals that come into our care and provide ongoing support throughout the adoption process and beyond.

Position Overview:

Our adoptable dogs and cats need your help to put their best paw forward! Become a Social Media Photographer/Videographer, and you will become the visual storyteller of our mission-capturing the magic and moments that bring joy and awareness to our cause. PCR recognizes that powerful, positive images and videos enhance our connection to new and current stakeholders across the organization. While all volunteers share this storytelling role, we rely on our skilled volunteer photographers and videographers to create quality content that visually articulates our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with fosters, volunteers, and staff to capture photos and videos of our rescue animals, either at the foster’s home, a public meeting place, or at one of our events
• Capture candid and staged shots of rescue animals, adopters, and volunteers
• Collaborate with our social media team to provide them with a steady flow of captivating visual content
• Ensure original unedited files are properly uploaded to their designated folder on the organization’s Google Drive

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in photography and/or videography with access to your own equipment. Please note modern smartphones can be used in place of DSLR cameras.
• A creative eye for capturing emotional and compelling moments.
• An understanding of photography techniques, including lighting, composition, and formatting.
• Passion for animal welfare and a genuine interest in our organization's mission
• Strong communication and time management skills to coordinate effectively with the Advancement Manager and social media team.
