Company Description
Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project 501(c)(3) is a non-profit organization that aims to expand access to fresh, nutritious food and bicycle education in Harlem and The Bronx, New York City. Our programs focus on teaching low-income community residents how to lead healthier lifestyles through nutrition and fitness. We work with local farms to bring fresh, local food to Bronx and Harlem communities and tailor our outreach to address the specific needs of each community.
Qualifications
- Experience in non-profit organizations or community development
- Knowledge of and passion for food access, nutrition, and fitness
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Understanding of board governance and financial management
- Experience in fundraising and grant writing
- Knowledge of the Harlem and Bronx communities

Mission Statement
The Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project aims to increase access to locally grown farm fresh food, promote micro-mobility, and reduce waste through composting and textile recycling in Harlem and The Bronx. Through the creation of the Kids Club and additional community engagement strategies, interactive sessions will be held at local farmers' markets to encourage good nutrition as part of a growing movement towards a healthier, better-fed, and more educated community.

Empowering communities in Upper Manhattan (Uptown) and The Bronx (Boogie), our mission is to enhance physical and mental well-being through nutritional programming while championing local producers and businesses and offering accessible micro-mobility education. Our vision is to cultivate healthier neighborhoods by expanding access to farm-fresh food and promoting micro-mobility for significantly improved community well-being.
