Pink Space Theory offers Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) programming to inspire and build STEAM skills for the next generation. It was created to help close the gender and race equity and equality gaps in the STEAM community. Pink Space Theory aims to engage, expose, and empower youth, especially girls, with STEAM learning experiences to prepare them for their future career paths and passions. Pink Space Theory energizes students through problem-based hands-on activities that stimulate critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity in the Washington DC Metro area.

Do you have a knack for creating engaging and informative content?

Our dynamic after school program is on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic individual as an Educational Content Producers in an unpaid internship role! This role can expect to spend 10-20 hours a month producing weekly content.

As an Educational Content Producer, you will play a crucial role in bringing STEAM to life for students of all ages. Your responsibilities will include:

● Designing and demonstrating engaging STEAM activities
● Filming and editing content that will be shared on our website and social media platforms
● Collaborating with our team to develop innovative educational materials
● Inspiring students to explore and pursue their interests in STEAM fields

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree or currently working on a degree for education, science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, or a related field is preferred but not necessary
● Teaching experience is highly desirable
● Must have your own computer

Keys to Success in this Role:

● A strong passion for education and STEAM subjects
● Experience in content creation, videography, and/or education (preferred but not required)
● Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to engage with young learners
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills
● Availability to volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours per week

Description

Pink Space Theory (PST) will integrate science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM) into project-based learning challenges for K-8 students using a mobile makerspace ("mobile fab lab"). The team-based activities will include robotics, computer-aided, and tactile assisted design. This will be the first such program in Northern Virginia.

The goals of the program are to:

  • Complement what students are learning academically,
  • Introduce students to new ways to approach subjects to help them understand challenging concepts, and;
  • Enhance technological literacy to enable students to effectively use technology to access, evaluate, integrate, create, and communicate information through STEAM activities
