ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Trail Crew Assists volunteer directly with the Whiskeytown Trail Crew. They will join the trail crew for an entire day and assist with maintenance and other tasks the Trail Crew performs. Volunteers will learn trail maintenance and management skills.

Volunteers must be available 6:00am-4:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at least twice a month.


Duties Include:

• Attending workshops and trainings to develop skills related to trail maintenance.

• Working alongside trail crew to clear and maintain trails in the park.

• Assisting with the operation of machinery for clearing trails.

• Removing downed trees.


This opportunity is physically demanding. It will include hiking on and off trails, use of tools, and lifting and moving heavy objects.

Volunteers will receive all relevant training for this opportunity, and additional optional training will be offered.

There is NO housing available for this position.
